Saludos Sumac L-STEM Elementary School Families!
Bienvenidos to Sumac L-STEM Elementary School’s 2026–2027 school year! Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 19, 2026, with breakfast and supervision beginning at 7:45 AM and the first bell ringing at 8:10 AM.
This letter includes important information about data confirmation, our annual Blast Off event, updates for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten families, and general school-wide news. We are excited to launch another joyful and enriching year of learning and community together. To make things easier for our families, we’ve worked to streamline the Aeries student data confirmation process. The data confirmation window opens in the middle of July and closes on August 18.

You're Invited to Complete Summer Data Confirmation! 🌞✏️
All families must log into the Aeries Parent Portal account and complete your Summer Data Confirmation today: 🔗 https://lasvirgenesusd.aeries.net/. This process updates emergency information.
Completing Data Confirmation ensures that your child's school has the most accurate and up-to-date information for a smooth and safe start to the school year. It only takes a few minutes! Completing this step as early as possible helps us tremendously in preparing for a smooth start to the year. Need help? Check out the step-by-step guide here.
With your Aeries Parent Portal account, you can view and update important information such as:
• Contact and emergency information
• Medical history and authorizations
• Demographics and household details
• School-specific forms and documents
• Grades, attendance, and more!

Universal Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and New Families
We have several special events to help welcome our newest families into the Sumac community! Join us for either or both of our casual playdates at Sumac Park, hosted by the Sumac PFA, to meet fellow new families. Then, don’t miss Sumac 101, a helpful logistics presentation for new and returning families led by Principal Logan and PFA, covering ParentSquare tips, campus orientation, and first-week details. This adults-only event is offered in person and via Zoom. Don’t forget to please complete this new family questionnaire for each child entering Sumac for the first time. Finally, if you have an incoming TK or kindergarten student, come meet your child’s teacher at the TK/K Meet the Teacher On Campus Play Date. All families should plan on attending our annual Blast Off event on the play yard.

School Supply Lists
The PFA unanimously voted to allocate $14,000 from this year's available funds to purchase school supplies for all Sumac students for the 2026–2027 school year.
What does that mean for families? No school supply shopping this summer! Students will have the supplies they need waiting for them when they return to school in August. We're excited to offer this benefit to our families and grateful for the support that makes investments like this possible.

Join us for our annual Blast Off event on Tuesday, August 18 from 4:30–6:30 PM on the play yard! This exciting kickoff to the new school year is your opportunity to:

• Contribute time, talents, and treasures by signing up to volunteer and donate to the PFA!
